Iguski Sautonne wins the Gr. I Prix de L’Atlantique

Today’s Enghien-Soisy featured Prix de L’Atlantinque (Gr. I International, purse 200,000€, 2150 meters autostart, 11 starters ages 4-11) went to 31/1 odds outsider and fast closing Iguski Sautonne (7m Village Mystic-Sara Sautonne-Juliano Star) reined by his trainer and owner Matthieu Abrivard. Race time was 1.11.2kr. The winner now sports 17 career victories in 53 starts for 492,640€.

This was his first Gr. I victory albeit he earned two Gr. III triumphs last year 2024 when on a three race win streak.

Finishing second was 1.5/1 favorite Go On Boy (9m Password-Balginette-Hasting) that was driven by trainer Romain Derieux for Ecurie Nixonn. Go On Boy fought hard first over to wear down pacesetter Etonnant before Iguski surged past. Placed third when Hooker Berry was a rough gaited dq while in the pocket, moving up 42/1 odds Ampia Mede SM (9g Ganymede-Polimpia Slide SM) with Vincenzo d’Alessandro Jr. driving for trainer H.E. Bondo and Scuderia Se.Fin.

Placed fourth was 10/1 Hussard de Landret (8m Bird Parker) for trainer/driver/owner Benoit Robin and placed fifth was 4.8/1 odds Emeraude be Bais (11f Repeat Love) with Franck Nivard up for Benjamin Goetz training for Herve Carlus.

Completing the top seven were 4.3/1 odds second choice Etonnant (11m Timoko) for Anthony Barrier and Richard Westerink (trainer/owner) and 55/1 Elvis du Vallon (11m Reve de Beylev) for Yoann Lebourgeois and trainer Charles Cuiller.

A great race this was on a fine day before a large audience with children enjoying many events for them.

The  Prix de la Ville d’Enghien-Les-Bains (purse 71,000€, 2875 meters, 11 European starters five year olds open) on the undercard saw 3.1/1 odds Rikita JP (5f Mister JP-Noblesse du Corta) score for driver Matthieu Abrivard timed in 1.13.3kr.

The Jocelyn Robert trainee now has five career wins in 19 starts for 197,150€ earned for owner Sandrine Robert. Karambor (5g Dollar Macker-Badames) took second at 6.2/1 odds with Alexandre Abrivard traming the L.C. Abrivard trainee owned by Halima Karrouchi. Kaptain du Liamone (5g Face Time Bourbon-Andrea d’Ecajeul) landed third at 3.8/1 with Mathieu Mottier driving for owner/trainer Frederic Pratt.

Matthieu Abrivard won three on the day with Rikita JO, Iguski Sautonne and Lucifer du Pont in the fifth race.

Eric Raffin won twice this day with Harrison du Plessis in the fourth race and with Learn To Fly in the seventh.

That race was the Gr. II Prix du Tonnac-Villeneuve (purse 120,000€, 2875 meters, nine starters all open four year olds) in which 2.9/1 odds second choice Learn To Fly (4m Uriel Speed-Santanna Girl) recorded his fifth career victory in 26 outings for 243,805€.

The 2.4/1 favorite Le Billet Very (4m Cristal Money) was second with Clement Duvaldestin up for Yannick Desmet and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. The 10/1 Lover Man (4m Magnificent Rodney-Cenora) was third for trainer/driver Mathieu Mottier for Dominique Mottier. Little Brown (4m Goetmals Wood-Blue Grass) was fourth at 5.8/1 odds with David Thomain driving this Philippe Allaire trainee for owner/breeder Christophe Toulorge, while 10/1 odds Lolita Bourbon (4f Orlando Vici-Scala Bourbon) finished fifth for Jean Michel Bazire, trainer J.P. Monclin and owner Yvette Engelke.
