Ex-Kiwi mare sits parked but still wins at Saratoga

Turn The Page N (Vincent) drew post eight for her try in the Tuesday Open at Saratoga Casino Hotel. The six year old harness racing mare had just one start under her belt in ’25 when she left from her outside post in the $15,000 feature for the ladies.

Turn The Page N got the worst of things early and wound up getting parked the mile in the Fillies and Mares Open. Undaunted, the Heidi Cushing trainee fought gamely on the outside in first half fractions of 27.4 and 56.4 before eventually reeling in the race’s leader around the final turn. Turn The Page N completed her monster mile by drawing away to score in four and a half lengths in 1:54.

TURN THE PAGE N REPLAY

Ron Cushing co-owns Turn The Page N with Kevin Sywyk and also piloted his star six year old to the Tuesday score. Laurie Lee (Jimmy Devaux), last week’s Open winner, was second to Turn The Page N while Side Piece (Aaron Byron) closed from last to finish third in the feature. Turn The Page N was the even-money betting favorite in the Tuesday matinee’s Open.

Live racing continues on Wednesday with a first post time of 12pm.
