Yesterday we had a look at the trends in harness racing in North America with regards to how pacing sires were performing so far this year.
Today we thought we would do the same thing with trotting stallions and how the charts are looking at this stage of the season.
The list has a very familiar look to it with a lot of the sires near the top of the list having been around for a while.
Kadabra continues to hold a prominent place on the list as he has for quite a few years and even though it is early days he has established a lead of close to $260,000.
Angus Hall is another leading sire who is always prominent on these lists and he has continued that trend in the early part of this year.
Cantab Hall is $200,000 plus back in third place with both Yankee Glide and Andover Hall close up in fourth and fifth place.

Sire Starters Money
==== ======== =====
KADABRA 135 $1,309,241
ANGUS HALL 118 $1,050,390
CANTAB HALL 96 $844,498
YANKEE GLIDE 101 $723,239
ANDOVER HALL 93 $703,594
The three year old trotters list is still very much in its infancy and it is hard to try to draw any conclusions due to the lack of runners at this stage of the season.
CR Commando holds a narrow lead at this stage of the season over the the son of Donerail in Political Briefing who stands in Delaware.
He only has ten live three year olds this season and only 95 live foals in his ten years at stud to date.
Muscles Yankee is going well as usual as is Yankee Glide but most of the heavy hitters are not far away and one feels this list will have a very different look about it after another month or two.
