CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – It was a night to shine for harness racing driver Jason Hughes as he tripled up on the Saturday evening program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park while also winning the feature event.

Good Luck Kathy threw the betting pools for a loop when she captured the $2,250 Open Mares pace while defeating heavyily favoured Ramblinglily (Driven By Walter Cheverie). Hughes used a two hole ride behind pacesetter Shadows Mystery (Kenny Arsenault) through fractions of 28.1, 58.1 and 1:27.4 with Ramblinglily on the first up attack in the short field that was scratched down to four with Prettndangerous sick. Good Luck Kathy got up the passing lane in the stretch drive to win in 1:57.1 over Ramblinglily with Shadows Mystery third. One of Hughes' other wins came in the $1,900 back-up pace as he jumped behind Rose Run Quest for a dazzling 1:55.1 victory for trainer Marc Campbell, who was racing in stakes action in Nova Scotia. Blair Hansen of Charlottetown owns Rose Run Quest. Hughes also won with Jetta Flys in an 11-length 1:58.2 romp for trainer Stephen Quinn of Stratford.

Trainer Jackie Matheson had two wins on the program with Four Corners (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:57.1 and Give Em Heck (Colin Sheppard) in 1:59.4. Driver Adam Merner put together a driving double on the 11-dash card with Political Crisis in 1:59.2 and Cowboys Dont Cry in 1:59.1.
