Massive $242,409.44 jackpot won by 1 ticket

TORONTO, December 12 – A $4.80 Jackpot Hi-5 harness racing wager turned into a massive $242,409.44 return Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack.

A single winning ticket correctly selected the top-five finishers in Friday's Jackpot Hi-5 race to take down the entire pool.

Shez A Gold Mine scored a 17-1 upset in the Jackpot Hi-5 race. The 8/5 favourite finished out of the top-five, which included a 25-1 shot in second and a 50-1 shot in third.

An HPIBet Customer made a $0.20 base wager totaling $4.80 with the correct combination to take home $242,409.44.

The official top-five finishers from Friday's Jackpot Hi-5 race are as follows:

1st: #9 Shez A Gold Mine – 17/1

2nd: #1 Kassaras Song – 25/1

3rd: #5 Weekly Special – 50/1

4th: #8 Black Widow Baby – 2/1

5th: #6 Boozer Bruiser – 6/1

A carryover of $218,833 was brought into the Jackpot Hi-5 Friday with $27,677 of new money wagered into the pool. The Jackpot Hi-5 carryover had been building since October 26.

The entire Jackpot Hi-5 pool and carryover is only paid out when there is a single winning ticket. If there are multiple winning tickets, half of the evening's Jackpot Hi-5 pool is paid out, while the other half is added to the carryover.

The Jackpot Hi-5 will now start from scratch Saturday night.
