The third harness racing rankings have been released for the 2016 TABtouch Inter Dominion with a number of moves in the penultimate ranking’s order.
The series is hotting up with a number of well fancied performers showing their wares across Australasia over the weekend, with some of the big names such as Lennytheshark, Smolda and Hectorjayajy all producing top class performances.
Defending champion Lennytheshark was tradesman-like in disposing of his opposition at Menangle. Hectorjayjay could not have been more impressive winning the Swan Hill Cup in Victoria, defeating comeback pacer Guaranteed. While Smolda out-classed his rivals on the grass track of Mt Harding in the Methven Cup.
These pacers are already well entrenched at the top of the rankings, while the moves up the list came from others that have had winning form over the past few weeks.
“Some of the big movers in the third round of rankings included Major Crocker through some outstanding performances at Menangle, forcing his way into the top 10” reported RWWA chief harness Handicapper, Warren Wishart.
“Of the locals, Libertybelle Midfrew after her last start win has jumped to 14 and another impressive performance from Freyberg has seen his ranking jump to 21 and probably the most significant and important change was that of Our Jericho who finds himself now in the top 30 after his win on Friday defeating 9 other Inter Dominion first acceptors.”
Helping a few up the rankings has been a couple of big name withdrawals, namely dual WA Pacing Cup winner and 2015 Inter Dominion finalist My Hard Copy and top New Zealand pacers Mossdale Conner and Tiger Tara.
Only three horses are under double figures with TABtouch. Stablemates Lennytheshark and Hectorjayjay lead the TABtouch market at $4.75, with NZ star Have Faith In Me on the second line of betting at $6. Have Faith In Me’s stablemate Smolda next at $10.
