Ragazzo Dolce puts win streak on the line

DOVER, Del.— Keystone Ace and The Fighter lead the $15,000 feature trot while I Like My Boss and I'm So Striking head a$14,000 sub harness racing feature on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Dover Downs. Ragazzo Dolce puts a five-race win streak on the line in a $15,000-$20,000 Claiming trot. First post is 4:30 p.m.

Two of the eight starters in the $15,000 3,4&5-Year-Old trot have a winning habit. Driver George Dennis, a part owner with wife Tina and E&K Stable's Keystone Ace won his last start and three of his previous four outings and seven wins this year. The Eddie Dennis trainee will meet Ed and Jim Hall's recent acquisition The Fighter, with Roger Plante driving for trainer Phyllis Copeland, from post 1 in his first start in three weeks after a win while Vic Kirby owns, trains and drives steady Lighter Hanover.

The other starters are Gregg and Tom Morris' Juanna Be The Man with Ross Wolfenden, Emily Carrow's Color Me Royal handled by Tyler Davis. Al Moors' Royal Status and Vince Copeland, Barbara Kirby's Myclaimtovictory, driven by Kim Vincent and Don Bonacorsa's Joeyscash, with Corey Callahan, from post 8.

Several horses drop down for the Open class in the $14,000 Winners-Over trot to battle streaking I Like My Boss (G.Dennis), a winner of three in-a-row for owners, trainer Bob Shahan and the Parsons. Fast finishing I'm So Striking (E.Dennis) is fresh from an impressive win last time out.

They meet LA Express Stable's Five Towns (Callahan), David Miller's Cash On Delivery (Copeland), Callam Racing's Spunky Jack (Plante) and Hemi Seelster (Brett Miller) owned by Carl Atley, Bob LeBlanc and Rich Lombardo, all dropping down from the Open. Indiana Stakes winner Bluebird Reverend (Montrell Teague) races for Dennis, Johannsen, Case and trainer Bobby Reeser, from the rail and Steve Iaquinta and Bill Dittmar's Razor Ramone.

Ragazzo Dolce (Jim Morand) has been at the top of his game with five consecutive victories in the $15,000-$20,000 Claiming Allowance.

Dover Downs will not race on Thursday, Dec. 31, New Year's Eve day. The next racing is Sunday, Jan. 3.

Starting In January and February the track will add a fifth day each week. Sundays post time is 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m.
