$1m mare Sassa Hanover into go

Sassa Hanover, second in the 2015 Breeders Crown Filly Final, makes her harness racing seasonal debut taking on the quality local female favorites in this week's $24,000 Mares Open Handicap pace on Tuesday, March 15 at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p m.

Andrew McCarthy will pilot Sassa Hanover, one of the top two-and-three-year-olds, who has banked $1-million for her owners Weaver Brucsemi. Larry Karr, Panhellenic and Burke Racing stables. Sassa Hanover makes her first start against seven hard-hitting mares in the week's top distaff event.

Chris White's Fashion Showdown, third, beaten by a neck last week after consecutive wins the previous two weeks will be driven by Allan Davis. Jeff Clark's strong finishing Springforth and George Dennis, has not been off the board in her 10 races this year. Sage N reined by Tim Tetrick, moves from the outside to the rail. She has won this event twice in her last four trips for C.V.Iannazzo, JFE Enterprises and Triple D Stables. Alongside is Duneside Chella with Tony Morgan racing for owner-trainer Bob Bailey.

Lou Catana and Vince Bradley's Matinee Dragon is another enjoying a fine start with driver Jonathan Roberts. B Stern, teamed with Vic Kirby, has been racing well for Steve Moss, Hal and Helene Solomon and Leigh Raymer. Stepping up to this level is Legacy Racing's fast Empress Deo, 1:50.2 winner with Allan Davis in her first start last Tuesday.

A strong undercard features a top female pacing-loaded 15-race card. .
